To get to Peru you have to go through either Buenos Aires or Santiago to get to Lima (the capital) from Sydney. From Lima you will need to get a flight to Cusco. From the prices we have seen, it seems to work out cheaper if you buy the flight to Lima, rather than buying 2 seperate flights.First areas to look into are:

Flight Centre - A friend of ours is a travel agent (pretty handy huh?) Her name is Kylie Johnson and she is more than happy to help anyone out with flights for the trip. Also if there are a few of you she can organise a group discount, so if anyone is thinking of doing this, then feel free to let us know and we can put you in contact with any others who are thinking of doing the same thing! She is located in Mosman, but you can do everything by email so you don't actually have to go to the north shore at any stage if you don't want to. There are heaps of sites on the net which specialise in flights. Best Flights and travel.com.au are decent sites which we used as starting points with occasionally some good deals!

loving all the options and research you have done! snaps for you both! Just for you and everyone else blogger's eyes - curt and I plan to get the SWISS round the world ticket (Buenos Aires > Zurich > Istanbul > blah blah blah) and we plan to fly into BA on the 15th March, then spend the next couple of days/weeks making our way over to Cusco - i think we plan to get there about 4 days before the wedding if we plan it right! and then fly back to BA from Cusco for about $450 (argentina aerolinas?) or its $307 from Lima. We don't plan to fly out from Peru until mid April. What are your plans after the wedding again/leaving Cusco/Peru? i forget! xxx

We're going to gauge what most people are planning post-Inca trail, but were thinking of heading up through Ecuador and into Columbia with all remaining gringos :P.
If you're heading back down to BA we should be able to do lots of things in just Peru or Ecuador if it suits. Once everyone have booked their flights we'll have a better idea!
Also, anyone interested in the group flight centre booking? Jen and Pho got a quote from Flight Centre for $1700 27th March return 25th April Sydney > Santiago > Lima. This was without the group booking so they're going to email Kylie if those dates also suit you

Hi all! I saw on LAN.COM today they have flights to Lima for $1700 or Buenos Aires for $1833 (dont know if thats with or without taxes). I tried to find out but my computer kept crashing after I selected the dates! So if anyone wants to try the website be my guest! bye!
